Wentzville means family for Robert. It is where he raises his family and where they volunteer their time. This community has given him extraordinary opportunities to make a difference. Now, he wants to return the blessings that have been given to him.

*In full transparency when reading the list below, no single elected offical can accomplish this alone.... they'd be lying if they took all the credit themselves. It takes a team of like-minded elected officials and a phenomenal city staff, all working sometimes to 1am in the morning (yes this has happend more than you think) to accomplish these achievements.
2014-2022 Election Promises Kept as Alderman
IMPROVED INFRASTRUCTURE
-
Continued to support of increased funding to replace deteriorated concrete street slabs in our neighborhoods. These funds more than doubled while I was on the Board from, $1.4M in 2013 to just shy of $3M in 2022. This funding gave Wentzville the best rated streets of all the cities as measued by St. Charles County.
-
Constructed a new exit ramp David Hoekel Parkway on Interstate 70 to help carry some traffic on Wentzville Parkway and Interstate 70. Also, to provide a quicker interstate access for Ward 2 residents.
-
Closed most of the "at grade crossovers" on 61 and constructed a new exit ramp for Peine Rd/Hwy P on 61 to improve highway safety.
-
Downtown Infrastructure improvements of roads, water & sewer lines and additional beautification. A commitment to over $7M over of improvements.
-
Provide increased water infrastructure throughout the city to keep adequate pressure (new water towers and looping of water lines).
-
Helped make Hwy. Z/Church Street exit ramp perform more efficiently so it wouldn't back up Interstate 70 during rush hour.
-
Built a much needed new city hall to consolidate usage and cost of a number of different buildings (some rented). This project was brought in under-budget and ahead of schedule with no debt, bonds or tax increases.
-
Wentzville Rec Center.
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
-
Worked towards smart economic development that brings good quality jobs that will support our neighborhoods, first responders and provide more resources for our schools.
-
The City has one of the lowest unemployment rates in the state, as low as 1.8%. We are working hard to make that number even better with over 100 new businesses within the past few years.
-
Adding thousands of private industry, well paying jobs and looking to expand. One example is the Wentzville Logistics Center off 61 that took a public-private partnership to bring well over 400 jobs to the area.
-
Hired a Director of Economic Development. One of his tasks is to help existing businesses grow and to recruit new businesses to the area through our Business & Retention Program.
-
Renewed a collaboration between our Economic Development Department and local, regional and national business interests and organizations.
-
The city currently has over $50 million in new business construction.
-
Became a local certified Government which opens our Wentzville Downtown area to some potential improvement grants.
REDUCED PROPERTY TAXES
-
As your Alderman, I have (and will) continue to push to lower your city property tax rate. The growth in economic development allowed for a plan to help lower your city property tax rate by taking a percentage of the revenue growth and using it to roll taxes back. All while increaseing funding to roard and police. The city property tax rate fell by about 19% from $0.79 per $100 assessed in 2013 to $0.64 per $100 assessed. (Not feeling like your tax amount has gone down? See the dollar chart below that shows the city collects a smaller amount of your total property tax as compared to other taxing entities).
-
Promoter of Amendment 4 a few years back, which was a ballot measure that was passed to amend the State Constitution to prohibit sales tax being imposed on services such as doctor appointments, haircuts, veterinary services, car repairs, lawn care services, etc.... YES, it passed!
2023 Promises Continued When Elected
IMPROVE TRANSPORTATION
-
Improvements to the Interstate 70-curve under the railroad tracks. A number of years back, myself, the mayor and county executive went in front of the MoDot Roadway Board and spoke of the dangers and traffic congestion that this curve causes. Since then, I have been networking with our state government for support. After much work, the Governor has announced he is on the same page.... HOWEVER, we still need to push this initiative to see it through to the end!
-
Peine Road S-curve by the water park. There has been too many stories of people having issues. It is dangerous and it is time we do something to fix the 90-degree turns.
-
N Point Prairie at 61 is a white knuckle experience. But it should not have to be. This is one of the last "at grade" intersections that needs to be improved.
-
N Point Prairie by the new high school is undersized for teenage driving and needs to be widened.
-
An improved entrance new ramp from Wentzville Parkway, getting on Interstate 70 east.
-
In conjection with the bullet point above, extend Wentzville Parkway south to provide a better traffic flow in that area.
-
Continued support for increased funding to replace deteriorated concrete street slabs in our neighborhoods.
-
Continued support for downtown Infrastructure improvements of roads, water/sewer line and beautification. A commitment to over $7M over the next few years (money allocated).
-
Provide increased water infrastructure to keep adequate pressure (ongoing).
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
-
Will continue to work towards economic development that brings good quality jobs that will support our neighborhoods, first responders and provide more resources for our schools.
-
Promotion of a SHOP Wentzville Campaign. When we shop local, it not only helps grow our community businesses, but the tax dollars also support our schools and first responders.
-
Implement a quality of life development strategy.
-
Work with the Missouri Department of Economic Development and the Missouri Partnership to further market Wentzville to new business ventures.
-
Conduct a need analysis for what we are missing in Wentzville. Listen and work towards requests made by residents like.... "can we get a furniture store out here!"
REDUCE PROPERTY TAXES
-
Continue to work to further reduce the city’s property tax rate. The city's rate has dropped by 19%.
-
This is a reduction in property tax rate without slashing services: With all the taxes that we pay (income, sales, property, etc), isn’t it nice to hear that we are working to lower yours? I proposed to take a percentage of our increased revenues and give it back to the people by the way of lower city property tax rates.
